About Us

Established in 1975, the Wyoming Valley Striders (WVS) running club is the oldest continuously operating running club in Pennsylvania's Wyoming Valley. The WVS is a registered 501(C)(3) non-profit.

Supporting the local running community in Northeastern Pennsylvania, we hold various races and events.

The club puts on six races a year: a *Winter's End 4.5 Mile Run in March, a *Cherry Blossom 5 Mile Run in May, two age graded trail runs, one in the Spring and one in the Fall, a 5.3 and 5.5 miles respectively, and a *20K race in November. (*Denotes races in the Vince Wojnar Triple Crown.) Marking the start of the high school cross country season, our annual Cliff Robbins Sr. Memorial Invitational takes place each year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
Some of our events include:
  • New Year's Day Social Training Run
  • Couch to 5K training program
  • Wyoming Valley Conference Coaches' Cross Country All-Stars Awards
  • End of Year Social
  • Weekly group runs
Membership benefits include race and local store discounts. Yearly dues are $10 (mail) or $12 (online). Supporters do not need to be a WVS member to run in our road races. Join or Renew
